Serkan takes medium and large format photographs in rural Turkey and on the peripheries of Istanbul. His publication "Homelands" collects photos from the ethnically diverse lands where people have lived for thousands of years; the armenian border, southern towns like Mardin and Gaziantep, lake Van etc.
Due to his father's profession he lived in different parts of Anatolia as a child. Through revisiting these places 15 years later he questions what 'homeland' means to him and presents a portrait devoid of borders or nationalism.
